Acosta has over 30 years’ coaching experience to the position and most recently has been an assistant coach at Southeastern Community College in Whiteville, North Carolina. He is not a stranger to Iowa Lakes as he served as assistant baseball coach at Iowa Lakes from 2006-2010. His coaching experience covers a wide range. He coached all levels of baseball: youth organizations, high school, college, and professional.
He has worked as a scout, strength and conditioning coach, and hitting and pitching coach for professional organizations such as Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs. Acosta earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching and a Master’s Degree in Sports Science with a focus in Sports Management.
